4 Jan 2013. Badrilla was one of 6 winners of a competition to use DNA and RNA aptamers in biotechnology, a competition hosted by Aptamer Solutions Ltd at the BioYorkshire event in Dec 2012. Badrilla's project sought to isolate nucleic acid aptamers as research tools and diagnostic tools to post-translationally modified features on proteins of the cardiovascular system. Oxidative modification of components of a critical signal transduction pathway which underpins heart failure is the focus of this award.
