Description: A fully validated, highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody to Serine-2814 phosphorylated Ryanodine Receptor 2 (anti-RYR2 PS-2814).
Background:The Ryanodine Receptor (RyR2) is a Ca2+ channel of cardiac muscle that plays a central role in EC coupling. The binding of Ca2+ to Ryanodine Receptor 2 RyR2 opens the channel and Ca2+ stored in the SR moves through the channel into the cytosol to initiate muscle contraction. CaMKII, was able to phosphorylate Ser-2814 of RYR2 enhancing Ca2+- sensitivity and increasing open probability. Excessive phosphorylation of Ser-2814 leads to atrial fibrillation, arrhythmias and sudden death.
Unit Volume: 50 μl
Tested Applications: Western blot (1:5000 dilution), immunofluorescence microscopy (1:100)
Antibody form: Lyophilised rabbit anti-serum (IgG).
Species recognition: All mammalian species, when phosphorylated on Ser-2814 (or Ser-2815 rabbit) Antibody recognises epitope despite single residue difference in epitope between species (V2815I; human vs mouse).
