    CAPTUREome™ S-Palmitoylated Protein Kit

    $499.00

    In stock

    Product code: K010-311
    Unit Size: 1 Kit

The Badrilla CAPTUREomeTM S-Palmitoylated Protein Kit is a simple and easy way of determining whether your protein of interest is post translationally modified with a palmitate group. The assay is based on the acyl-RAC (resin assisted capture) method and facilitates, with four simple steps – Block, Cleave, Capture and Analysis - determination of protein palmitoylation.

    Kit highlights

    • Enables capture of S-palmitoylated proteins.
    • Kit designed to process 4 x 5 biological samples with paired negative controls (i.e. 40 samples in total).
    • Convenient stopping point after blocking treatment.
    • Assay suitable for downstream SDS-PAGE, western blot or mass spectrometry analysis.

    • Acyl PEG Exchange – An Important Advance in the Palmitoylation Toolbox

Blog InsertThere have been many recent advances in methodologies to detect the only reversible lipidation reaction of proteins, S-palmitoylation. This fatty acyl post translational modification has gained great interest in the research community as it is increasingly recognised as important in both health and disease. In this article I will briefly examine the development of the acyl exchange methodologies used by researchers to measure S-palmitoylation. I will focus in particular on the recently published Acyl PEG Exchange (APE) /Acyl PEGyl Gel Shift (APEGS) assay, paying particular attention to the advantages it offers scientists interested in exploring palmitoylation.
