Badrilla Co-Sponsors Research Project With the University of Leeds

Badrilla has co-sponsored a research project with the University of Leeds to examine the post-translational changes in enzyme structure (CaMKII) arising in diabetic states. Chronically elevated glucose in the blood provokes the glycosylation of key enzymes in cardiac muscle cells, altering the behaviour of the system. A team at the University of Leeds has been formed to create technology capable of detecting these chemical changes to better understand the incidence and role of aberrant glycosylation in disease settings.
